NIA Arrests Two From Mumbai In The Antilia Bomb Scare Case

Mumbai, 15th June 2021: The NIA has arrested Santosh Shelar and Anand Jadhav from Mumbai. They were arrested for planting explosives outside the house of industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia in Mumbai. The court remanded them in NIA custody till 21st June. The NIA arrested the two from the Malad area of Mumbai.

The two were booked for planting explosives in a Scorpio car outside Antilia. The case is being investigated by the NIA, so far three police officers along with a constable have been suspended in the case. On 25th February the police found a Scorpio car with gelatin sticks outside Antilia. A few days later, Mansukh Hiren, the owner of the said Scorpio, was killed. This caused a stir in Mumbai and Maharashtra. The main accused in the case, Sachin Waze, is a suspended Mumbai police co-inspector.

Involvement in Mansukh Hiren murder case?

Meanwhile, the NIA has arrested two more persons from Mumbai’s Malad area in connection with the case. NIA on 11th June took action against the accused, preliminary information indicates that the two were involved in a plot to plant explosives outside Antilia. Besides, the NIA is also investigating whether the two were involved in the conspiracy to assassinate Mansukh Hiren.

What exactly happened?

On February 25, a vehicle full of explosives was found outside the Antilia building where Mukesh Ambani stays. Initially, it was believed to be a terrorist plot. However, on 5th March, Mansukh Hiren, an industrialist from Thane, died under suspicious circumstances.
