Positive Response For Booster Vaccination By Youths and People Aged Above 45 In Mumbai

Mumbai, 15th July 2022: Vaccination for children above 18 years of age has started from 10 am on Friday at BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) centres and it has been getting a good response from the citizens. In just an hour, more than 1.5 thousand citizens have taken the booster in the city.

For this, necessary changes have been made in ‘Covin’ late on Thursday night and hence there were no problems regarding the boosters on Friday morning. An employee of the Bandra-Kurla Sankul Corona Centre said that the number of people coming for vaccination has the majority of people above 45 years of age and youngsters who go to full time work.

With the possibility of rain in the morning, not much crowd of citizens gathered for the vaccination. But slowly the number of citizens coming for vaccination increased. Doctors at the vaccination centre in Goregaon said that the response was good on the first day due to the availability of free vaccines.

Free booster doses will be available for citizens aged 18 to 59 till September 30 at municipal immunization centres. A booster dose can be taken six months or 26 weeks after the second dose.
