Pune: Goon From Pimpri Chinchwad Shot Dead At Hotel In Indapur, Incident Caught On CCTV Camera

Indapur, 17th March 2024: A chilling incident took place in the heart of Indapur on Saturday night as a notorious goon from Pimpri-Chinchwad city was ruthlessly murdered at a local hotel.

Avinash Balu Dhanve, 30, a resident of Vadmukhwadi, Charholi, Pimpri-Chinchwad, fell victim to assailants who launched a brazen attack while he was enjoying a meal with friends. The assailants, armed with a pistol and a chopper, executed their deadly assault before fleeing the spot.

Dhanve, known for his involvement in multiple serious cases within Pimpri-Chinchwad city, was en route to Pandharpur with companions when they made a stop at Jagdamba Hotel in Indapur for dinner. Little did they know, Avinash had unknowingly drawn the attention of his attackers, who meticulously surveilled his every move. As Avinash engaged in casual conversation with his friends and awaited his meal, the assailants struck from behind, unleashing a barrage of bullets and vicious stabs with a chopper, leaving Avinash fatally wounded.

Amidst the chaos that ensued, the attackers escaped in a waiting vehicle, leaving the hotel staff and patrons in a state of shock. Promptly responding to the distress call, Police Inspector Kokane from Indapur Police Station (Pune rural police) rushed to the scene, followed by Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh and Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Jadhav. With the gravity of the situation apparent, immediate orders were issued to apprehend the perpetrators, prompting the deployment of specialized teams to track down the fugitives.

Initial investigations have revealed that Dhanve’s murder was likely driven by longstanding animosity. Authorities have seized the CCTV footage as crucial evidence in their ongoing investigation into the incident.
