Pune: Maharashtra State Cabinet Approves Substantial Benefit for Non-Teaching Staff in Private Schools

Pune, 12th March 2024: In a significant development, the Maharashtra State Cabinet, in its meeting on Monday, approved a substantial benefit for non-teaching staff in recognized private schools across the state. The Maharashtra government has allocated a total of 53 crore 86 lakh for this purpose, bringing relief to the Non-Teachers’ Corporation of the Maharashtra State Secondary School, which has persistently advocated for this demand over the past several years. Shivaji Khandekar, the State Secretary of the Non-Teachers’ Corporation, confirmed the success of their efforts.

The Non-Teaching Corporation has long been campaigning for the implementation of the Assured Career Progression Scheme for employees in privately recognized schools, staging protests to emphasize their cause. Maharashtra Minister of Education Deepak Kesarkar, during the recent session of the corporation in Sawantwadi, Sindhudurg pledged to address this issue. The cabinet meeting’s decision has finally resolved the longstanding demand. The Maharashtra government aims to expedite the implementation of this decision.

According to the approved plan, employees in service as of January 1, 2024, who completed 24 years before that date, will start receiving the actual benefits from January 1, 2024. Shivaji Khandekar expressed the intention to extend these benefits to employees who retired or passed away before January 1, 2024, emphasizing the inclusive nature of the decision.
