Pune: Residents Unite for Peaceful Climate Fast in Solidarity with Sonam Wangchuk and Ladakh

Pune, 16th March 2024: In response to the urgent call for climate action and sustainable development by renowned environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk and the people of Ladakh, residents of Pune are set to gather tomorrow for a one-day peaceful Climate Fast. The event is geared towards raising awareness about the critical need for environmental conservation and demonstrating support for Wangchuk’s cause.

Sonam Wangchuk’s climate fast in Ladakh has garnered widespread attention, shedding light on the imperative for sustainable practices and environmental stewardship. In a show of solidarity, Pune’s residents will be joining this movement by observing a day-long fast from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on March 17, 2024, at Maruti Mandir, Vetal Tekdi, Pune.

Shweta Kulkarni, representing Friends of Ladakh, Pune, expressed her support for the initiative, stating, “This peaceful demonstration seeks to highlight the importance of collective action in addressing climate change and preserving our planet’s fragile ecosystems. By coming together in solidarity with Sonam Wangchuk, participants aim to amplify the message of environmental responsibility and advocate for sustainable practices.”
