Sachin Wajhe Gave Rs 45 lakh To Pradeep Sharma For Hiren’s Murder, Says NIA

New Delhi, 5th May 2022: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has opposed the bail plea of Shiv Sena leader and former Mumbai Police encounter expert Pradeep Sharma in the Bombay High Court. The probe agency said that they were paid Rs 45 lakh from suspended Mumbai police officer Sachin Wajhe for killing businessman Mansukh Hiren.

In its affidavit, the NIA in the Bombay High Court on Wednesday termed Sharma as the ‘main conspirator’ in the murder case of Mansukh Hiren.

Earlier in a chargesheet, the NIA had said, “On March 3, 2021, accused Sachin Wajhe met accused Pradeep Sharma at Police Station Foundation Office Andheri (East) Mumbai in the evening hours and handed over a Rexin bag containing a huge amount of cash. The bag contained bundles of Indian currency notes of Rs 500. After that, accused Pradeep Sharma called accused Santosh Shelar to find out the registration number of the vehicle arranged by him. Accused Santosh Shelar gave information about accused Sachin Wajhe Gave.”

In the chargesheet it was also revealed that the investigation relating to the plantation of an explosive-laden SUV on Carmichael Road in south Mumbai near industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s residence on February 25 was being transferred to a senior police officer, Wajhe. Hiren was pressured to take responsibility for the said crime, so that the matter could be investigated in his favor. But he turned down the offer.

The NIA arrested Wajhe in March 2021 in connection with its probe into the recovery of explosives from a car parked near Mukesh Ambani’s house in Mumbai. Wajhe is the prime accused in possession of a vehicle laden with explosives near Antilia, the home of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani in Mumbai on February 25, 2021.

Wajhe is also accused of killing Mansukh Hiren, the owner of a vehicle carrying explosives outside.
