Seven-Month-Old Foetus Found in Garbage Bin in Mumbai’s Charkop Area
Mumbai, 3rd January 2025: A seven-month-old foetus was discovered in a garbage bin in Mumbai, according to police reports on Tuesday.
A passer-by noticed the foetus on Monday afternoon in the waste bin outside the Ashtavinayak Society building in Charkop. Upon being informed, police arrived at the scene and sent the foetus to a hospital for post-mortem examination, a Charkop police official stated.
“We are looking into whether there is any indication of a newborn’s death being concealed and the body discarded. We are gathering information about pregnant women in the area, as well as those who recently gave birth,” the official added.
The police are awaiting the post-mortem report, which will guide further investigation and the potential filing of a case.
