State Minister Yashomati Thakur Sentenced Three Months Jail For Slapping Policeman

Pune, October 16, 2020: Yashomati Thakur, Minister of Women and Child Development in Maharashtra Government, has been sentenced to three months in jail by the Amravati court. Along with this, a fine of 15 thousand rupees has also been imposed.
Yashomati Thakur was facing a case of slapping an on-duty policeman. She is also the guardian minister of Amravati district.
Eight years ago Yashomati Thakur slapped an on-duty policeman named Ulhas Raurale near Amba Devi temple in Amravati district. During this time, her car driver and two supporters also beat up the policeman. The court has also convicted these people. A policeman in the case has also been sentenced by the court due to perjury.
Yashomati Thakur said – Truth will prevail
After the verdict from the Amravati court, Yashomati Thakur said, “I am a lawyer by profession and I respect the court’s decision. This decision has come after 8 years. I will appeal to the High Court challenging the decision of the court.”
BJP workers want to end my career
Yashomati Thakur has emerged as an MLA from Tevsa assembly seat for the third time in Maharashtra. She said that she has an ideological fight with the BJP. “People of the BJP want to end the political career of a woman, which is why they are demanding my resignation”, she said.
