Thane Couple’s Confession Reveals Chilling Details Of Their Daughter’s Murder And Burial

Thane, 12th April 2024: A tragic incident unfolded in Thane city, Maharashtra, where a couple, Jahid Sheikh (38) and his wife Noorami (28), were arrested for the alleged murder of their 18-month-old daughter. The child’s untimely death on March 18 was shrouded in secrecy until an anonymous letter prompted the authorities to investigate.

Following a thorough examination, the police unearthed the child’s body from a local graveyard, leading to the arrest of the couple. Jahid and Noorami, who live in Mumbra, were taken into custody on Wednesday.

Senior inspector Anil Shinde from the Mumbra police station revealed that an anonymous letter alerted the police to the couple’s alleged crime of killing their daughter, Labiba, and discreetly burying her in a graveyard.

Subsequently, the police initiated an investigation, leading to the detention of the couple. Initially uncooperative, the accused eventually confessed to the crime without disclosing the motive. The couple admitted to the police that they had killed their daughter on March 18 and buried her in a local graveyard.

Following this revelation, the police exhumed the decomposed body, with the autopsy confirming injuries to the child’s head and other body parts. Inspector (crime) SA Dawne informed that the couple was presented before a magistrate on Wednesday and remanded in police custody until April 15.
