Thane: Police Dismantle Sex Racket at Uttan Resort; Arrest Made and Victims Rescued

Mira-Bhayander, 3rd February 2024: In a commendable operation conducted by the police’s anti-human trafficking cell (AHTC) on January 29, a sex racket operating at a resort in the Uttan area of Mira-Bhayander, Thane district, Maharashtra, was successfully dismantled.

The operation resulted in the arrest of a 27-year-old woman, Artidevi Pankajkumar Lehar, under section 370(3) (trafficking) of the IPC.

Acting on a tip-off, the AHTC deployed a decoy customer to the resort, facilitating the apprehension of the accused while negotiations were ongoing. The timely and strategic action led to the rescue of three women in their 20s who were victims of the illicit operation.

The arrested individual, Artidevi Pankajkumar Lehar, is now undergoing further investigation as part of the legal process.
