Two Tourists From Mumbai Drown In Quarry Near Lonavala, Police Register Accidental Death

Pune 10th July 2023: In an unfortunate incident reported near Lonavala on Saturday, two tourists from Mumbai who had come to enjoy monsoon with friends drowned in a quarry. The incident took place near Varasoli and a case of accidental death has been registered by Pune rural police in the matter. The deceased have been identified as Priyank Vora and Vijay Yadav.

 

According to reports, Priyank, Vijay, and a few other friends ventured into the water of a nearby quary while enjoying monsoon with friends on weekend in Lonavala. Unaware of the dangers, they stepped into the water, which seemed shallow at first. However, within moments, they found themselves struggling to keep afloat. As the others members of the group noticed, they immediately called for help.

 

Witnessing their distress, locals present nearby also rushed for help. The rescue team arrived shortly thereafter and managed to pull some of them out of the water. However, due to the strong current and lack of visibility, they were declared dead by the doctor.
