Vasai: Fishing Boat Burns Down In Sudden Fire; Fishermen Demand Compensation From Government
Vasai, 7th January 2023: A boat standing at Chowk port in Uttan suddenly caught fire on Friday (January 6) at 4 am. The boat named ‘John Paul’ was kept ready at the Chowk port at Uttan to go fishing the next morning. The fishermen who used the boat suffered huge losses as the boat was completely burned down.
The intensity of the fire was so high that the boat was completely burnt at sea resulting in a loss of around 25 lakh rupees. About twenty families were living on this boat. Therefore, the fishermen are demanding that the government give them some compensation.
