‘Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ Benefits Thousands of Mumbai Citizens

Mumbai, 2nd January 2024: The ‘Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Yatra,’ launched by the Central Government to promote awareness and participation in various schemes, has garnered a positive response in Mumbai. Thousands of citizens have directly benefited from the yatra, which is scheduled to continue until January 26, 2024.

So far, 29,442 citizens have undergone health examinations at the various health examination halls established during the yatra. The Ujjwala Yojana has assisted 15,383 needy citizens through the yatra. Ayushman cards have been distributed to 16,000 citizens, promoting access to healthcare services.

Special vehicles have been deployed in all 227 wards of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to reach citizens effectively. The yatra is set to continue its journey, spreading awareness about various central and state government schemes.

Under the guidance of Brihanmumbai Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Iqbal Singh Chahal, Additional Municipal Commissioner (City) Dr. Ashwini Joshi, the ‘Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ has been organized across the entire Mumbai metropolis. The yatra involves four special vehicles covering 227 wards, providing information about centrally sponsored schemes.

A total of 17 schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Scheme, PM SVANidhi Scheme, Khelo India, Ayushman Bharat, Startup India, Pradhan Mantri Awas, and others, are part of this yatra. The initiative aims to reach eligible constituents who might be unaware of the various schemes available to them.

Beneficiaries of the yatra are sharing their experiences through ‘Meri Kahani Meri Jubani,’ narrating how they have directly benefited from central and state government schemes. The yatra has also facilitated direct interaction between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and beneficiaries.

The yatra’s objectives include conveying information about government schemes, creating awareness, interacting with beneficiaries, registering potential beneficiaries, and ensuring that eligible individuals receive the benefits they are entitled to.
