FIR Filed Against Two Students for Exam Impersonation at Mumbai College

Mumbai, 29th October 2024: Police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against two students following an attempted exam fraud incident at a city college affiliated with Mumbai University. A teacher discovered that a dummy student was attempting to take the financial accounting exam, as confirmed by an official on Monday.

The FIR names Roshan Ajay Kumar Yadav and Manish Arvind Kumar Yadav as the accused. Investigations revealed that Manish had sent Roshan to the examination centre to impersonate him.

The incident occurred at Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science in Kandivali, Mumbai, where teacher and exam invigilator Vinay Vijay Dukale was overseeing the ongoing third-year examinations.

During the financial accounting exam, a female teacher became suspicious of a student’s identity. Upon reviewing the hall ticket, it was determined that the individual, initially identified as Manish Yadav from Lathibai Ramdar Maheshwari Night College in Mumbai, was Roshan Yadav from Naigaon in the neighbouring Palghar district.

Upon interrogation, Roshan admitted he was taking the exam on behalf of his friend Manish, who was waiting outside the exam centre. Following this revelation, college officials notified the Samta Nagar police.

Subsequently, a case was registered against both students under the Maharashtra University Misconduct Prevention Act and relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, according to the official.
