Meta Introduces Revolutionary Mind-Controlled Wristband

New Delhi, 26th February 2024: Just a few days ago, Elon Musk’s company Neuralink had implanted a chip in the human brain. Providing updates on the patient with the brain chip, Musk had revealed that he could control the computer mouse just by thinking. Now, Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has unveiled a smart wristband that types based solely on the user’s thoughts.

Neural Non-Invasive Technology

Meta’s new wristband utilizes Neural Non-Invasive Technology, also known as electromyography (EMG). This technology allows the wristband controller to grant permission for typing only through thoughts.

It’s not just a fancy gadget to move a mouse or a game controller. This unique device suggests that Meta is gearing up to introduce something groundbreaking in the near future.

Debut in 2021

It’s worth mentioning that Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta had presented this as an experimental prototype in 2021. In his recent interview with the Morning Brew podcast, Zuckerberg stated that they are working on bringing this technology to users soon. “We’ll be presenting it to everyone shortly,” he said.

How is Neuralink Different?

This device is different from Elon Musk’s Neuralink, which requires chips to be implanted in the brain. However, in the interview, Zuckerberg hinted that the human nervous system has several additional bandwidths in which they can utilize their signaling to send control inputs without any significant physical activity. Meta’s Neural Wristband is poised to revolutionize AR/VR as it allows users to type just by thinking.
