Navi Mumbai: Massive Fire Engulfs Navbharat Industrial Chemical Company in Pawane MIDC Area

Navi Mumbai, 2nd April 2024: A significant blaze broke out at Navbharat Industrial Chemical Company in the Pawane MIDC area, spreading to neighbouring units on Tuesday morning around 11 am. According to Surendra Choudhary, a fire officer from the Emergency Response Station (ERS) in Pawane MIDC, the fire was fueled by chemicals, necessitating the deployment of 13 fire engines from various stations. Fortunately, there have been no reported casualties.

The fire swiftly spread to three adjacent industrial units, including a paper manufacturing company, due to the substantial stock of chemicals present. Officer Choudhary highlighted the challenge of combating the blaze, requiring additional resources beyond the initial response. To address the situation, authorities called upon fire engines from Rabale MIDC, NMMC’s fire stations at Koparkhairane, CBD, and Airoli.

The complexity of the situation led to the utilization of Cidco’s Bronto skylift for firefighting efforts, as entering the affected companies directly was deemed unsafe. Despite the intensity of the fire, there have been no reports of injuries or fatalities at this time.
