Pune: Section 144 Fails to Deter Nighttime Crowds, Kalyani Nagar Residents Sound Alarm

Kalyani Nagar, 4th March 2024: Despite the imposition of CRPC section 144 regulations, residents are expressing deep concern over the persisting issue of significant crowd gatherings and disturbances, particularly in the DMart lane area, during late-night hours.

In the early hours of March 3rd, 2024, at approximately 3:00 AM, a video captured a disturbing scene of a large crowd assembling in the DMart lane. This gathering not only inconveniences and disturbs the peace of the residents but also contributes to continuous honking, exacerbating the situation.

Upon thorough investigation, it has come to light that a major catalyst for this ongoing disturbance is the operation of a pub, which remains open until the late hours of the night. The activities conducted by this establishment attract sizable crowds, leading to the disruptions reported by residents.

Despite the presence of a police vehicle in the video footage, no visible action has been taken to disperse the gathering or address the concerns raised by the residents. This lack of timely intervention has only heightened the frustration and unease among the residents.
