NMMT Launches New AC Bus Routes Connecting Navi Mumbai with Mantralaya

Navi Mumbai, 13th September 2024: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport Corporation (NMMT) has introduced two new air-conditioned (AC) super-fast bus routes. Launched on Thursday, these services are designed to connect major areas in Navi Mumbai with Mantralaya, the Maharashtra state government headquarters. The buses will operate on two routes: one from Nerul to Mantralaya and another from Kharghar to Mantralaya, both traversing the Atal Setu bridge.
Routes and Fares
– Route 116: Travels from Nerul (East) bus station to Mantralaya, passing through Ulwe and the Shivajinagar toll gate.
– Route 117: Connects Kharghar Sector 35 with Mantralaya, stopping at Panvel, Palaspe, and the Gavan toll gate.
Travel times are approximately 95 to 100 minutes from Nerul to Mantralaya and 100 to 115 minutes from Kharghar to Mantralaya. The fare for the Nerul-Mantralaya route is ₹230, while the Kharghar-Mantralaya route costs ₹270.
Service Timings
– Route 116: Buses depart from Nerul at 7:55 AM, with a return trip from Mantralaya to Kharkopar railway station at 9:45 AM, and another at 5:20 PM. The return service from Mantralaya to Nerul starts at 6:25 PM.
– Route 117: The Kharghar to Mantralaya bus begins service at 7:40 AM, with the return bus departing from Mantralaya at 6:15 PM.
Future Plans
NMMT is promoting these new services to support potential increases in frequency. Similar services, such as BEST’s Chalo buses and MSRTC’s Shivneri electric buses, are already operational on the Atal Setu.
