Navi Mumbai Police Bust Prostitution Ring, Arrest Two Women Including Bangladeshi National

Navi Mumbai, 24th October 2024: Police have uncovered a prostitution ring in Taloja, Navi Mumbai, leading to the arrest of two women, including a Bangladeshi national, according to officials on Thursday.
During the raid, conducted on Tuesday, authorities also rescued another Bangladeshi woman.
Senior Police Inspector Prithviraj Ghorpade of the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC) stated that the unit received information about a sex racket being operated from a residential house. Acting on the tip-off, the police sent in an undercover agent and then raided the location.
At the scene, officers identified Hasina Mushraf Khan, 30, as the operator of the racket. They discovered that payments from clients were being made digitally to Salia Safique Khan, 39. Both women were subsequently arrested. Hasina is from Bangladesh, while Salia is from Kolkata.
The rescued woman has been placed in a correctional facility in Chembur, Mumbai.
A case has been filed at the Taloja police station under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 143(2) (trafficking of persons) and 3(5) (common intention), along with provisions of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, the Passport (Entry into India) Act, and the Foreigners Act.
