Mumbai: LTT Works to Disrupt Train Operations for 11 Days; Two Express Services to Short-Terminate at Thane
Mumbai, 1st August 2026: Central Railway will operate an 11-day special traffic block at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) from August 4 to August 14 to undertake balance construction and infrastructure works, affecting the operation of two long-distance trains.
The block will begin at 8 am on August 4 and continue until 8 am on August 14, covering a period of 11 days. The works include construction of a shunting neck, modification of the existing sick siding, maintenance siding yard works, extension of pit lines and diversion of water supply, drainage and storm-water lines.
As part of the work, the sick collection line, washing pit lines 6, 7 and 8, stabling line 5 and C&W sick lines 1, 2, 3 and 4 will remain affected during the block period.
Two trains to short-terminate at Thane
Due to the block, the following services will be short-terminated at Thane:
– Train No. 12154 Rani Kamlapati–LTT Express: Journey commencing August 7, 2026.
– Train No. 16346 Thiruvananthapuram–LTT Netravati Express: Journey commencing from August 3 to August 13, 2026.
Passengers travelling on these services will therefore not be able to reach LTT during the affected journeys and will have to conclude their train journey at Thane.
The infrastructure works at LTT include construction and modification activities in the maintenance and stabling areas, along with utility-line diversions. The railway has advised passengers to take note of the operational changes and plan their journeys accordingly.
