Four Building Collapses In Mumbai; No Casuality Reported

Mumbai, 19th August 2022: On Friday, a four-storey building collapsed in Mumbai’s Borivali area. According to BMC eight fire tenders and fire brigade personnel reached the spot. So far no casualties have been reported. According to reports, the building was already evacuated.

 

An official said, “Gitanjali building near Saibaba temple in Saibaba Nagar of Borivali West collapsed around 12.30 pm. Eight Mumbai fire brigade vehicles, two rescue vans and other vehicles, police and municipal staff rushed to the spot. The firefighters are trying to find if anybody was trapped.”

 

Regional Disaster Management Cell Head Avinash Sawant said, “The lift got stuck on the fifth floor in the morning and the five people trapped inside could be rescued after half an hour.”

He added, “A 63-year-old elderly woman was also among those trapped in the lift.”
