IMD Expects Heavy Rainfall In Mumbai In Coming Days, While Subways Closed Over Waterlogging In City

Heavy Rains Bring Relief To Water-Scarce Navi Mumbai, Morbe Dam Too Receives Good Rainfall 

Mumbai, 14th July 2023: In a welcome change of events, heavy rainfall has once again made its presence felt in Mumbai after a brief respite of a few days. The suburbs of Mumbai have experienced consistent rain since the early hours of this morning, with the western suburbs witnessing particularly heavy rainfall.

Rain has been present in the suburbs of Mumbai since this morning. The Andheri subway, a crucial lifeline for commuters, has been closed due to the accumulation of one and a half to two feet of water on the highway. Similarly, in other low-lying areas of Mumbai, water has started to accumulate.

The Meteorological Department has provided a forecast for the upcoming days, indicating that the rain will continue across the state of Maharashtra for the next four to five days. Notably, heavy rainfall is expected in Konkan and Vidarbha.

The meteorological forecast suggests that there will be rain in the state for the next four to five days. Heavy rain is expected at some places in Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, and Vidarbha, while rain with thunder is expected in Marathwada and some other places. Also, a yellow alert has been issued in some districts of Vidarbha, with the expectation of heavy rain in Kolhapur, Sindhudurg, and Ratnagiri today.
