Mumbai: Couple Found Dead Inside Their Apartment, Suspected Accidental Death

Mumbai, 9th March 2023: On Wednesday, a couple was discovered dead in the bathtub of their apartment in a high-rise building in Ghatkopar under strange circumstances. Deepak (42) and Rina Shah (39) were discovered with the shower running, according to Pant Nagar police. Although the post-mortems will not be performed until Thursday, a housing society resident suggested that the deaths may have been brought on by the geyser. An Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been submitted in this matter by the Pant Nagar police.

The event was discovered when the Shah family house help, who lived in the G wing in flat number 501, arrived for work on Wednesday morning. No one came to the door despite her repeated doorbell ringing.

She then dialled Deepak’s mother, who provided a neighbouring relative’s mobile number. According to the authorities, the relative arrived and used a spare key to enter the door.

The relative discovered them both on the floor with the shower running in the bathroom, according to DCP (Zone 7) Purushottam Karad, who also claimed that there was nothing strange within the house. They were taken to Rajawadi Hospital, where medical staff immediately pronounced them dead. A Kukreja Tower resident claimed that the deaths might have been caused by the geyser.

Police sources claim that the bodies were naked and uninjured. A few years ago, Deepak owned a business, but he was currently unemployed. The bodies will undergo a postmortem on Thursday. The report is being awaited by the police.
