Mumbai: Excise Department Seizes Alcohol Worth Rs 77 Lakh Illegally Imported From Goa
Mumbai, 19th December 2022: The Maharashtra Excise Department launched a raid and uncovered the liquor stock imported from Goa and other states for Christmas and New Year parties.
The Excise Department laid a trap on the Sion-Panvel highway passing through Kopra village. They stopped the suspect’s truck and checked it. Illegal liquor stock worth Rs 77 lakh was found in it. This liquor was brought illegally from Goa in the background of Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Commissioner of State Excise Department Dr Vijay Suryavanshi’s team conducted this operation. They found 898 boxes of Royal Blue whiskey bottles in the truck.
