Mumbai Police Files Complaint Against Rana Couple For Not Attending Court Proceedings

Mumbai, 5th July 2022: The Mumbai Police has filed an application in the court seeking the cancellation of bail of MP Navneet Rana and her husband MLA Ravi Rana.
According to police both the leaders have been missing from the court proceedings after the new government came to power in the state.
The special court has reprimanded the Rana couple for this application of Mumbai Police.
Special Public Prosecutor Pradeep Gharat said that since the new government came, neither the couple nor their lawyers have come to the court. He said that the legal process is being taken lightly.
The Rana couple had talked about reciting Hanuman Chalisa outside Matoshree, the private residence of the then Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. After this, there were a lot of uproars and a case of sedition was registered against them. They were later granted bail.
Shabbir Shora, appearing in court on behalf of the couple, has sought an extension to appear in the proceedings.
It is reported that at present the case has been adjourned till August 11. Earlier, the couple was supposed to appear in court on July 20.
