Navi Mumbai: Alleged Assault on MNS Leader Mahesh Jadhav Sparks Internal Conflict

Navi Mumbai, 10th January 2024: In a troubling development, Mahesh Jadhav, the State vice-president of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and national president of Marathi Kamgar Sena, has claimed to be assaulted by Amit Thackeray, the son of MNS chief Raj Thackeray, along with some MNS activists. The incident reportedly occurred at Amit Thackeray’s office in Dadar on Tuesday.

Jadhav took to Facebook to share a video, visibly injured and bleeding from head injuries. According to his account, the meeting with Amit Thackeray in Dadar was intended to discuss the demand that mathadi workers, including non-Maharashtrians, should be allowed to work as head loaders. Following a heated argument, he alleges that he was physically assaulted.

In response to the allegations, MNS leader Bala Nandgaonkar released an official letter disclaiming any responsibility for the activities of MNS Marathi Kamgar Sena office-bearers, as they have been expelled.

However, internal sources within the party suggested that there were multiple complaints against Jadhav in Navi Mumbai, including allegations of extortion. The source mentioned that Jadhav came to Amit Thackeray’s office and engaged in rude behaviour.
