Naturally, documents provided by government can be accessed anywhere, anytime and securely in DigiLocker, in a paperless format. There is no need to physically carry such documents. Hence usefulness of DigiLocker is on a greater extent. Owing this, BMC has also provided the facility of marriage registration certificates in DigiLocker as directed by Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Iqbal Singh Chahal. By digitalisation of availing marriage registration certificate, the municipal administration aims to reduce the burden on the citizens and make it easier for them to access this important document, Bhide further added.

Director (Information Technology) Sharad Ughade stated that. this initiative of providing marriage registration certificate in DigiLocker has been implemented in collaboration with Public Health Department of Municipal Corporation, which is headed by Executive Health Officer Dr Mangala Gomare and her colleagues. Henceforth, the municipal administration is also trying to make the services of other departments available in DigiLocker. The Information Technology Department of BMC is striving hard to make the municipal administration more citizen-oriented. We are constantly striving for paperless and transparent operations. On this occasion, I would like to appeal citizens to avail this service and save the marriage registration certificate on DigiLocker for easy access whenever required. This initiative is important towards making the municipal administration more digital, transparent, efficient & secure, said Ughade.
