Police Locate Seven of Eight Teen Girls Who Escaped Thane Observation Home
Thane, 9th January 2025: On Thursday, police revealed that eight teenage girls managed to escape from a government-run observation home in Thane district. Authorities launched an extensive search operation, successfully locating seven of the girls.
The girls, aged between 15 and 17, escaped in the early hours of Tuesday by breaking a bedroom window grill at the observation home in Ulhasnagar township, as confirmed by an official from Hill Line police station.
The caretaker of the facility immediately alerted the local police, prompting a swift response. Within two hours, seven of the girls were found in two different locations in Ulhasnagar and were returned to the facility. One girl remains unaccounted for.
The police official noted that the girls were located before the local train service began at Ulhasnagar station, which could have allowed them to flee the town. The girls reportedly disliked staying at the observation home, which led them to run away.
Hill Line police have registered a case in connection with the incident.
