Pune: New Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Disbands Social Security Cell

Pimpri, 22nd April 2022: Newly appointed Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Ankush Shinde on the very first day itself took a strong action to send message to his staff. He has disbanded the Social Security Cell (SSC) which had been taking action against illegal activities across the Commissionerate.

The previous Police Commissioner Krishna Prakash had set up a special team called ‘Social Security Cell’. The police inspectors, officers and personnel were part of this team to take action against illegal activities and businesses. The team had taken action against Matka, gambling, lottery, illicit liquor, prostitution etc.

On April 21, Shinde took over as the Commissioner of Police. On the very first day itself, he disbanded the SSC and asked the officers and police personnel to report at the place of their original postings.
