Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Police Seizes MD Drugs Worth Rs 2 Crore In Pimple Nilakh, One Person Arrested

Pimpri Chinchwad, 1st March 2024: The officials from Pimpri Chinchwad police have arrested a man from Bihar and seized 2 kg mephedrone (MD) drugs valued at Rs two crores.

Namami Shankar Jha, a 32-year-old resident of Nigdi and native of Darbhanga in Bihar, has been identified as the arrested individual.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Swapna Gore, a team led by API Narayan Patil was on night patrol when Jha was found moving suspiciously near Rakshak Chowk in Pimple Nilakh, at around 4.30 am today. A subsequent search led to the seizure of 2 kg 20 grams of MD drugs valued at Rs 2 crore 2 lakh 10 thousand. Initial findings indicate that the accused had brought the drugs for sale.

Based on a complaint from Police Constable Vijay More, an FIR has been registered at Sangvi Police Station for offences under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
