Thane Police Bust Sex Racket in Navi Mumbai, Rescue Eight Women

Thane, 11th April 2024: Two African women were apprehended by Thane Police in Navi Mumbai for their involvement in a sex trafficking operation. The raid, conducted at a residence in Kharghar, resulted in the arrest of the suspects and the successful rescue of eight female victims from the same nationality. The rescued individuals, aged between 25 and 30, have been relocated to a secure shelter for their well-being.

Legal actions have been initiated against the arrested perpetrators under the Indian Penal Code and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. The authorities were alerted to the illicit activities following a tip-off about the presence of African women engaging in commercial sexual exploitation at the specified location. During the operation, two suspects were apprehended, while a third individual managed to evade capture.

The rescued women are currently under the care of a rescue home, receiving the necessary support and assistance. The arrested individuals, along with their fugitive associates, are facing charges related to human trafficking, criminal conspiracy, and violations of anti-trafficking laws in India.
