Triple Murder in Navi Mumbai: Man, Pregnant Wife, and Son Found Dead, One Suspect Arrested
Navi Mumbai, 10th September 2024: A recent triple murder in Karjat has shocked the community. The victims—a man, his pregnant wife, and their young son—were found abandoned in a ditch near their home. The police have arrested the man’s brother, Hanumant Patil, and his wife in connection with the crime. Hanumant is accused of using an axe to carry out the murders, which he is believed to have planned meticulously. The deceased—35-year-old Madan Patil, his pregnant wife Anisha, and their 11-year-old son Vivek—were discovered on Sunday morning by locals on their way to a ritual. The bodies showed evidence of being attacked with a sharp weapon.
After a detailed investigation, the Raigad police took Hanumant Patil and his wife into custody. The motive for the crime was a property dispute. Hanumant allegedly murdered his brother and the family while they were asleep, attacking them with an axe. Under the supervision of Raigad District Police Superintendent Somnath Gharge and led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer Dhula Dnyaneshwar Tele, five investigative teams were formed. It was uncovered that Hanumant had carefully planned the murders. He pretended to stay at his maternal uncle’s house for Ganesh Chaturthi but returned that night to commit the crime before going back to his uncle’s house for the morning celebrations.
As the investigation unfolded, Hanumant became a prime suspect. Despite his efforts to mislead the authorities, inconsistencies in his account and CCTV footage showing his movements led to his arrest. After extensive questioning, Hanumant confessed to the murders.
