Navi Mumbai Police Arrests Man Accused of Rape Two Years After Incident
Navi Mumbai, 12th April 2024: Two men, including Vijay Chowdhary alias Virjibhai Mahial, have been accused by a 31-year-old makeup artist of raping her after allegedly giving her a spiked drink at a hotel in Turbhe area two years ago.
The Navi Mumbai police have arrested Mahial and are currently searching for the other accused, Saddam. The woman reported the incident to the APMC police station, leading to the registration of a case against the accused for rape and administering harmful substances with criminal intent.
Mahial, a 45-year-old farmer from Banaskantha district in Gujarat, has been apprehended while Saddam remains at large. The reasons for the delayed report to the police have not been disclosed by the woman.
