Pune: RTE Fee Reimbursement Rate Fixed at Rs 17,760 for Academic Year 2023-24

Pune, 29th February 2024: The fee reimbursement rate for the academic year 2023-24 under the Right to Education Act (RTE) has been established at Rs 17,760. Reserved under RTE, 25% of seats in private unaided schools are designated for students from disadvantaged and weaker sections. In the admission process, the government reimburses the fees for students enrolled in private schools. This reimbursement is determined based on either the amount set by the schools for that particular year or the rate established by the government, whichever is lower.

The School Education Department has issued a government order specifying the fee reimbursement rate for the academic year 2023-24, which is set at Rs. 17,760. The order provides directives for the verification process when reimbursing fees, including several key points:

1. Schools admitting students from deprived and weaker sections on the 25% reserved seats under RTE should pay their first to eighth-grade fees on the Saral website or RTE website.
2. Schools with their website should publish fee details on the website.
3. RTE Acceptance Certificate is required.
4. Students admitted through an online lottery should be studying in the same school.
5. The Aadhaar card details of students should be registered on the Saral website.
6. Only the number of Aadhaar-enrolled students should be considered.
7. 25% of students should be considered for fee reimbursement.

Furthermore, the order states that if a school has acquired land, buildings, equipment, or other facilities free of charge or at a concessional rate, it may not be entitled to reimbursement of education fees up to a specified limit.
