N M Joshi Marg BDD Chawls Redevelopment Work To Start

Mumbai, 19th December 2022: The Mumbai Board of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has decided to speed up the redevelopment of N M Joshi Marg BDD chawls. After the completion of the demolition of four buildings, preparations have been started to raze the other six buildings. The construction of redeveloped buildings will be started in the new year on the plot that will be cleared after the demolition. In the first phase, 1,239 flats will be built for the BDD residents. It has been decided to complete the work of these flats by June 2025 and hand them over to eligible BDD residents.

 

Demolition of building numbers 11, 12, 30 and six at Joshi Marg has been completed. At present, the demolition of buildings three, four, and five is going on and the demolition of buildings no 13, 14 and 15 will begin in January. After the demolition of all these buildings, the construction of redeveloped buildings will begin quickly. 1,239 flats will be constructed there in the first phase. It has been informed in the meeting of contractors, MHADA and BDD residents that the aim is to complete the construction of these flats by June 2025 and hand them over to eligible BDD residents. It will be distributed to the eligible residents of building numbers one to 15 and 30 at Joshi Marg.
