Mumbai Railway Police Tighten Security Ahead of Holi and Dhulivandan

Mumbai, 13th March 2025: In anticipation of Holi and Dhulivandan celebrations, the Mumbai Railway Police have intensified security measures across railway stations to ensure passenger safety. The police have warned against throwing colored water balloons at moving trains, stating that offenders will face immediate action. Additionally, strict action will be taken against those consuming alcohol within railway premises or causing disturbances.

Special teams have been formed to conduct enhanced patrols at railway stations, with a focus on preventing harassment of female passengers. Surveillance through CCTV cameras will also be increased to monitor passenger movements. Key stations like Sion, Wadala, Kurla, Bandra, and Mahim have been identified for heightened security.

The police have also launched awareness campaigns in nearby residential areas to discourage the throwing of colored water balloons near railway tracks. Furthermore, checks have been put in place to monitor unauthorized entry and exit points at stations for alcohol consumption.

In a broader effort to maintain law and order, the police have instructed passengers not to travel while standing at doors or hanging from trains. Passengers are advised to contact the railway police helpline at 1512 for any assistance during travel.
