Navi Mumbai Police Arrest Man with Banned Tobacco Worth Rs 3.87 Lakh

Navi Mumbai, 12th September 2024: On Wednesday, police in Navi Mumbai announced the arrest of a man after discovering banned tobacco products worth Rs 3.87 lakh in his possession. The arrest occurred during a routine patrol early Tuesday morning when officers stopped a car near a bridge in the Vashi area for a search.
The search revealed a large quantity of the prohibited tobacco items, which were promptly seized by the Vashi police. The 26-year-old man, a resident of Bandra in Mumbai, was taken into custody and charged under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and FDA regulations.
Authorities are currently investigating the source of the illegal goods and their intended destination.
